Jewelry Self Service

Yesterday I turned 2 months living in Antwerp and I feel like it's been 2 years. In such a short time I've been met a plenty of beautiful people that have opened a lot of doors for me, without expecting nothing in return. I thank God specially for my boyfriend, who has introduced me all those special people and gave me so many good ideas to continue my little business here, my dear AnaBo Cafe. What started in 2010 like a blog inspired in a cozy cafe where you go with your special girlfriends, in 2012 it turned into an online store of Venezuelan fashion accessories. While I'm working on the relaunching of www.anabocafe.com for Belgium and Europe, I'm planning the first live showroom of AnaBo Cafe in Antwerp: Jewelry Self Service, where the guests could taste an exquisite selection of accessories from very talented Venezuelan designers and goldsmiths. In the next days I'll be posting in my Instagram @anabocafe a sneak peek of the pieces that I'm going to serve that day. Ayer cumplí dos meses viviendo en Amberes y siento que son 2 años. En tan corto tiempo he conocido a muchas personas valiosas que me están abriendo muchas puertas, sin esperar nada a cambio. Doy gracias a Dios primero que nada por mi novio, quien me ha presentado a todas esas personas y me ha dado muy buenas ideas para continuar acá con mi pequeño negocio, AnaBo Café. Lo que empezó en 2010 como un blog inspirado en un cafecito cuchi al que vas con las amigas, se convirtió en 2012 en una tienda online de accesorios de diseño venezolano. Mientras trabajo en el relanzamiento para Bélgica y Europa, estoy preparando el primer showroom de AnaBo Café en Amberes: Jewelry Self Service, donde las invitadas podrán degustar, como si de deliciosos postres se tratara, una exquisita selección de accesorios de talentosos diseñadores y orfebres venezolanos. En los próximos días estaré posteando en mi instagram @anabocafe un abre boca de las piezas que se están horneando para ese día. The flying bike

Mi segunda llegada a Amberes no fue normal. Mi novio tenia un evento de trabajo y no me podía buscar, así que mandó a una de sus mejores amigas a recibirme en la estación central de trenes. Dejamos las maletas en la casa y pensé que tomaríamos un bus al evento donde estaba mi novio. Para mi sorpresa, Amanda me dijo que nos íbamos en bicicleta. "What!?" Pensé, pero no tenía otra opción. Tomé mi bicicleta e intenté seguirla; ella manejaba como si estuviera flotando sobre las empinadas calles de Amberes, yo intentaba no tropezar con las piedras sobresalientes de la calle, cruzar las piernas para que no me vieran la que te conté y sudaba frío cuando venía un carro de frente. Y Amanda fresca, hermosa, seguía flotando en su bicicleta mientras me sonreía con sus grandes ojos que enamoran. Eso fue hace casi dos meses y ahora soy yo la que estoy flotando por las calles de Amberes; fresca, hermosa, feliz.

My second arrive to Antwerp wasn't ordinary. My boyfriend had a work event and couldn't go to pick me up at Central Station, so he sent one of his best friends to receive me. We left the luggage at home and I thought that we're going by bus to the event where my boyfriend was. For my surprise, Amanda told me that we're going by bike. "What?!" was my first thought, but I didn't have no choice. I took the bike and tried to follow her; she drove like she was floating over the cramped streets of Antwerp, while I was trying to avoid the protruding stones of the streets, crossing my legs to hide my must precious thing and sweatting cold everytime a car was coming on my way. And she kept fresh, beautiful, floating on her bike, smiling with her lovely big eyes. That was almost two months ago and now is me who's floating over the streets of Antwerp: fresh, beautiful, happy.

Madame Bovary

En este mes y piquito que llevo en Amberes, me he dedicado a recorrer sus calles empedradas (totalmente anti tacones) y he descubierto rincones cálidos donde refugiarse a tomar un delicioso café, así como tiendas con un concepto original que reúne innovadoras creaciones de talentos locales e internacionales. Hace unos días mi novio me recomendó que pasara por Madame Bovary, en la calle Melkmarkt. Es ese tipo de tiendas que te hacen sentir que estas en la mente de Walt Disney. Mis ojos se pasearon lentamente por cada prenda, cada accesorio, hasta llegar al rack de C'est Quoi La Vie. Simplemente me enamore de todos los vestidos de esta marca belga. Por supuesto que no me resistí y me probé tres. De inmediato Barbara, la duena de la tienda, comenzó a tomarme fotos y pasamos una tarde muy divertida. Morí cuando descubrí que también hacen los vestidos en miniatura para las mas chicas. 

In this month and a half that I've been leaving in Antwerp, I've spent my time walking over her stone (anti heels) streets, discovering such cozy corners where you can get away to drink a delicious coffee, or stores with a unique concept that gather very innovative creations from local and international designers. A few days ago, my boyfriend recommended to me to visit Madame Bovary, at the Melkmarkt street. Is the kind of store that make you feel that you're inside Walt Disney's mind. My eyes walk slowly on every piece, every accessorie, till they end at C'est Quoi La Vie rack. Simple, I fell in love with all the dresses from these Belgian brand. Of course, I couldn't resist and tried three dresses. Suddenly Barbara, the owner, started to take photos of me and we had fun. I died when I discovered that C'est Quoi La Vie also make mini versions of every dress for the little girls.
