7 gorgeous ways to wear a cardigan

A solo semanas de salir de Venezuela, recibo un curioso correo de Mariana Camacho / Just a few weeks from leave Venezuela, I received this curious email from Mariana Camacho:

What would happen if we send our basic garment to the best fashion bloggers in the country and ask them to create with it the best outfit?
Would you accept the challenge?
If you accept, one of our cardigans will bell at your door with the color that we choose for you! You have only one day to create an amazing look with a prescribed inspiration.
This next thursday we'll take the photos of your look with our talented photographer Guillermo Felizola and you'll be the model...

With all the work to do about my move to Belgium, the last thing I had was TIME. But as you can read at Mariana's email, Cardigan's Challenge was just about create an especific outfit with these classic garment, in just two days! Also, Mariana Camacho is one of the most kind, fun and talented Venezuelan designers that I know and I couldn't say no. So I accepted the challenge and next day I was receiving my lovely indigo blue cardigan. The bottom of the bag said "St. Barts Getaway", wich made me think that it was a collection name from Mariana Camacho. I created my look and the next day I was at the fabulous photo studio of my dear Guillermo Felizola.

However, when I showed my outfit to Mariana, she asked me if I've received the correct inspiration. I didn't understand till she told me that my outfit's inspiration was in the bottom of the bag where I received my cardigan... So silly I didn't get it at the moment, so millions of things in my mind by that time (well, all the time). But my little forgetfulness was worth it in somehow, because Mariana created a very chic outfit for me in just minutes, with the most delicious accessories from Lola, perfect to steal people's attraction at the privilege island of St. Barts. Under the spell of Gabriel Hacedor's makeup, every single of the 7 fashion bloggers that accepted this funny challenge, shine in our own different styles.

Sweet like home

Yesterday I had one of those experiences in your life that reproduce a plenty of crossed thoughts. In fact, it's hard to focus in just one to start writing this post. First, I would like to host in my country, Venezuela, an event similar to the Jewelry Self Service, but unfortunately there's difficult to find decoration to recreate what I had on mind, and even if I find them, they're very expensive.

Second, it's amazing that there still are persons disposed to help you without expect nothing in return. My boyfriend's mom offered to take me to De Living (the place where I host the event); she helped me to set the table with all the accessories; she invited friends that tried and bought jewelry from Venezuelan designers and goldsmiths; and she waited for me till the end, around 10pm, to help me to save all the accessories back and take me home.

AnaBo, Pili, my boy's mom and sister
Also I appreciate a lot the help from Pili, an extraordinary Mexican women, married to one of my boyfriend's friends, that I just seen her a couple of times in my life and yesterday I felt that she was one of my best friends helping me out with the sales and customers care. Of course, I can't finish this post without thank Kristien and all De Living's staff for offered me those cozy corner in their fantastic restaurant, to recreate my little coffee of Venezuelan fashion in Antwerp.

At last, although my parents, sisters and close friends from Venezuela weren't there, every single person that attended made me feel very special. I thought I was going to be the one who would bring the Caribbean heat to Belgium, but despite the cold weather, yesterday I received so much warm, help and love from special beings who were born, raised and live in this beautiful city.

Jewelry Self Service

Yesterday I turned 2 months living in Antwerp and I feel like it's been 2 years. In such a short time I've been met a plenty of beautiful people that have opened a lot of doors for me, without expecting nothing in return. I thank God specially for my boyfriend, who has introduced me all those special people and gave me so many good ideas to continue my little business here, my dear AnaBo Cafe. What started in 2010 like a blog inspired in a cozy cafe where you go with your special girlfriends, in 2012 it turned into an online store of Venezuelan fashion accessories. While I'm working on the relaunching of www.anabocafe.com for Belgium and Europe, I'm planning the first live showroom of AnaBo Cafe in Antwerp: Jewelry Self Service, where the guests could taste an exquisite selection of accessories from very talented Venezuelan designers and goldsmiths. In the next days I'll be posting in my Instagram @anabocafe a sneak peek of the pieces that I'm going to serve that day. If you are in Antwerp, bring your girlfriends and don't miss this sweet shopping experience, with the glamour as main course, attended by the owner!
